August 8, 1947 ~ June 17, 2019 (age 71)

Dyretha "Dicy" Hambright was born in Lincolnton, North Carolina to the late Deacon Jesse Hambright and Deaconess Thelma Hambright and she was the sixth of seven siblings. She was educated in the Philadelphia School system graduating from West Philadelphia School in 1965 and continued her education and graduated from Temple University in the early seventies. She began her career with the United States Post Office as a temporary employee and accelerated her way through the ranks to management where she was employed for over fifty-four years.

Dicy who received her nickname from her niece who could not pronounce her name as a child loved to shop, a true "fashionista" who loved to dress, she was very caring and giving person who never missed any birthdays or holidays always making sure you had a card and a gift . She enjoyed going to the movies and shows. She was very active and had a great love to travel traveling the United States as well as across Asia, Europe, Israel and South America. Dicy was also very proud of her collection of Corvettes.

On July 11, 1987 she married Jay Oldenberg and relocated to Phoenix, Arizona where she resided for over thirty years but always returning home to Philly a couple times a year never missing a Christmas or family events.

She is preceded in death by her sister Theresa Smith, brother Boyce "Sonny" Hambright, brothers in law Rev. Ivan B. Hewitt and George Ellis.

Left to mourn her are her sisters Angie Hewitt, Mary Ellis, Eunice Summey and Betty Hambright, 2 brothers in law James Summey and Manon "Teet" Smith and three generations of nieces and nephews.
