My life has been fulfilled. My days were both rewarding and yet some sadness.

Born to the late, Andrew and Judy Farris, on December 16, 1926, in Kerens, Texas. She was the youngest of seven children, 4 brothers A.J., Roy Lee, Curley, Jr. and Dennis, all deceased. Two sisters Ruby Jackson, Deceased, and as I write this, Murlee Farris Holmes of Texas still lives.

Our family was close knit. Our parents taught us to be Christians, stay in school, and work hard for what we wanted and needed. We had the comfort zone of a small town life. When I graduated from J.W. Jackson High School in Texas, I was able to attend college in Tyler, Texas. After a while the college funds became limited and I had to start working part time to stay in college.

In 1948 I traveled to Philadelphia, Pa., to live with relatives, the late Deacon and Deaconess Sam and Edna Cook.  It was a welcome change; however I was missing something out of my life. In a short time I was able to work and soon returned to school. I studied at night and worked during the day, I enrolled in the Charles Morris College of Advertising and Journalism.

I worked at St. Luke, and Guffre Medical Center, in the administration department of Public Relations. I graduated from Charles Morris Price School of Advertising and Journalism, and was awarded a certificate in Journalism. I then enrolled at Temple University evening school of Journalism for a short period of time and gained enough credits toward a Bachelors degree in Journalism.

When my employer learned of my success in studies they gave me the opportunity to attend the Norwich College of Norwich University, which allowed me to obtain my bachelor degree, plus have extra credits toward a Master's Degree.

At work I began to climb the corporate ladder. I was asked to work and arrange a Community hospital relation board where, there would be a better relationship between the administration and community board. I was asked to coordinate all monthly meetings. My employer then appointed me as evening administrator. My job was to oversee the full operation of the entire plant.

I began to search for a church that had the same religious values my parents had taught me. One Sunday morning as I was walking down 15th and Dauphin by the membership. The emptiness that I had was gone; happiness came over me, the religious void fulfilled. No more longing for the spiritual connection that my parents taught me. I'M FREE.

I continued to visit, and finally under the leadership of Reverend Harrison J. Trapp, and Mrs. Edna Trapp I became a member. I began working in the Sunday School, and joined the Scholarship fund committee.

I have worked in the service journey of Reverend and Mrs. Trapp, Reverend and Mrs. Angie Hewitt, and now under Pastor Gregory Ross, and his wife Reverend Beatrice Ross.

As a singer, I sang with some great musicians like Mrs. Helen Brown, Mr. Claude Dunston, Mr Wayne Triplett, Ms. Stephanie McMillan, Ms. Hazel Jefferson, and Mr. Keith Keys who were all noted musicians.

I've worked through the years with no regrets. My life has been fulfilled, How Can I say Thanks

On May 23, 1998 I married the late Benson Vincent Aigbadon, P.H.D. a native of Lagos Nigeria. Our lives were one of happiness, no children. Benson preceded me in death on August 1, 2008.

As of this writing I leave one sister Murlee Farris Holmes, nephews Garland Ray Holmes, Curtis Lee Farris, Ivory Farris, Ronald Farris, Craig Farris, Curly Jr. Farris, Patrick Farris, and Anthony Farris. Nieces Francis Farris Thomas, Sherrie Farris, Toni Farris, and Paula Farris.

As I leave you, think of the times we spent together, the music and choir singing, and the years we spent with our successful scholarship fund.
