The story of Laura Louise Brown began on July 20, 1945 as a little bundle of joy for Eloise and James Edward Corry, Sr. in Philadelphia, PA. She was educated in the city of Philadelphia.
Laura was an adventurist and liked to travel. She visited several different countries and many states. One of her dream trips was to see the sights of Las Vegas, NV where see indulged in her passion for slot machines. She also was passionate about music which framed the structure of her life. On any given day you could find her with the music blaring in her home as she listened to one of her favorite artists like Frankie Beverly and Maze, Johnny Gill, or Joe.
Another passion Laura shared with every life she touched was the joy of conversation. She never met a stranger and embraced everyone she met with her unique smile and a warm welcoming hug. This was usually followed by a delightful meal with food like barbecue ribs, collard greens, macaroni and cheese and if you were lucky you might have tasted one of her delectable cakes, banana pudding or her delicious butter cookies.
On Monday January 21, 2019 Laura Brown took her final trip to heaven. Her motto was to never say goodbye but I'll see you later. Until the next time they meet, Laura leaves her brother James Edward Corry II; her children Lashell Corry, Annette Adams, Raymond J. Newby, Anthony S. Newby, and Jamal Lott, 17 grandchildren, a host of great and great-great grandchildren to cherish her memory.
